Kasym-Jomart Tokayev's working tour of Astana's significant sites began with a visit to Industrial Park No. 1. Here he was presented the investment potential of the capital.

As reported by Deputy Mayor Yevgeny Glotov, the volume of gross regional product of the capital for the first half of the year amounted to 4.7 trillion tenge with an increase of 4.1%. The main contribution to the structure of GRP is made by small and medium-sized businesses, the share of which is more than 73%, the share of investment in GRP is 11.5%.

Industrial Park No. 1 plays a special role in the work on attracting investments. 100 projects with a total investment volume of 322 billion tenge are being implemented here. The park ranks first in the republic in terms of production volume, which reached 6.7 trillion tenge over the entire period of operation.

The President emphasized that large production facilities are very much needed for the development of the capital.
- The population of Astana is growing. In the coming years it may reach 1.5-2 million people. Therefore, we must provide jobs for residents and young people, – Kasym-Jomart Tokayev said.

The head of state was shown the achievements of the leading enterprises of the park Tau-Ken Altyn, Stadler Kazakhstana, DSS, ENCO, DUYQAZ, VMP-Astana and MFA International.

The Tau-Ken Altyn refinery, engaged in processing and refining of raw materials containing precious metals, is one of the successful enterprises in the management of Samruk-Kazyna NWF. For 10 years of activity it has produced and delivered to the National Bank more than 200 tons of refined gold, also rendered tolling services for 80.5 tons of precious metal.

The next enterprise presented to the President is Stadler Kazakhstan LLP, which was founded this year as a result of an investment agreement with the Swiss holding company Stadler Rail AG. The world leader in the production of railway transportation plans to establish production of passenger cars in Kazakhstan. The products of the plant will be primarily aimed at upgrading the domestic rolling stock. It is planned to produce more than 500 passenger cars for Passenger Transportation JSC.

According to the representatives of the Industrial Park enterprises, their products are in demand both in the domestic market and abroad.

For example, anticorrosive and fireproof paint and varnish coatings produced at VMP Astana are widely used in various industrial sectors. More than 90% of the products are exported to Russia, and supplies are also made to the markets of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The same high demand in the construction industry of the capital allowed ENCO to open a production and service complex for maintenance of equipment for heat and water supply.

Respirators of FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 classes, produced jointly with Turkish company MFA MASKE TİCARET SANAYİ A. Ş., have become popular products in conditions of epidemic threats. As of today, the resident of Industrial Park No. 1, MFA International, has increased the number of technological production lines to 5 and plans to put 10 lines into operation by 2027. This will enable the company to produce up to 20 million respirators annually.

In addition, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev familiarized himself with samples of military clothing produced by "DUYQAZ" LLP, telecommunication equipment of "Cuman Digital System Servis" LLP and products of other enterprises.
