Graduated from the Kazakh State University named after Al-Farabi. She graduated from Lancaster University, School of Management, UK in 1995 and received a Master of Science in Organizational Management.

She began her professional activity as a teacher/assistant professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Economy of the Kazakh State University named after Al-Farabi.
From August 1993 to October 1997 - held positions in the Department of Economic Development of the USAID Mission in the Central Asian Region, in the Trade and Commodity Finance Department of MeesPierson Bank N.V., Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in the Department of Financial Institutions in the department of structural Commodity Finance ING Bank N.V., Amsterdam, Netherlands (head office).
October 1997 – December 2003 - senior regional manager/vice president, General Director of the representative office of ING Bank N.V., Almaty, Kazakhstan.
